Who We Are
Good To Drone is a drone weather intelligence service operated by Eightfold Inc. When this policy refers to "we," "us," or "our," it means Eightfold Inc. If you have questions, email us at [email protected].
What We Collect
GPS location - You share your coordinates when you request a flight assessment. For free-tier users, this data is used only to query weather APIs in real time and is not stored on our servers. For paid users who save locations, those coordinates are stored and associated with your account.
Email address - Paid accounts require an email. We use it to send your magic-link login and billing-related notifications. We do not send marketing email without your explicit opt-in.
Payment information - Billing is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number, CVV, or full billing address. Stripe shares only a customer ID and subscription status with us. See Stripe's privacy policy for details on how they handle payment data.
Cookies and local storage - We use an HTTP-only session cookie to keep you logged in. We also use localStorage to remember your last-used coordinates and preferences. See our Cookies Policy for full details.
Push notification tokens - If you opt in to push notifications, we store a browser-generated subscription token (endpoint URL, encryption keys). This token is used only to deliver weather and airspace alerts. No personal information is embedded in the token.
Weather Data Sources
Flight assessments are powered by free public APIs: NWS, NOAA, and FAA data services. When we query these APIs on your behalf, your coordinates are sent to those government services. No account information or personal data is included in those requests.
How We Use Your Data
- Deliver real-time flight assessments for your location
- Authenticate your account via magic link
- Process and manage your subscription through Stripe
- Send push notifications you have subscribed to
- Store saved locations you have explicitly bookmarked (paid users only)
- Diagnose errors and maintain service reliability
Data Retention
Session cookies expire after 30 days or when you log out. Free-tier location data is never stored - it passes through our servers in real time. Saved locations for paid accounts remain until you delete them or close your account. If you close your account, all stored data is deleted within 30 days.
Third-Party Services
- Stripe - payment processing. Their privacy policy
- NWS / NOAA / FAA - weather and airspace data. These are US government services; no user data is shared with them beyond your coordinates.
- Browser push (VAPID) - notifications are delivered through your browser's push service (Chrome, Firefox, Safari). The push service receives only the encrypted notification payload.
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) - We use GA4 to analyze site traffic and usage patterns. GA4 collects anonymized data such as pages visited, session duration, and referral sources. This data helps us improve the app. No personally identifiable information is shared with Google for advertising purposes. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Facebook Pixel (Meta) - We use the Meta Pixel to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and understand how visitors interact with our site. The pixel collects anonymized data such as pages visited and actions taken (e.g. signing up or starting checkout). This data may be used to show you relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram. No personally identifiable information is shared unless you independently provide it to Meta. You can manage your ad preferences at Facebook Ad Preferences or opt out of interest-based ads at aboutads.info.
Both GA4 and the Meta Pixel are loaded only after you accept cookies via our consent banner. If you decline, no analytics scripts are loaded.
Amazon Associates - Some links on this site are affiliate links through the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, Amazon may set cookies on your device to track the referral. These cookies are governed by Amazon's Privacy Notice. We receive only a referral fee and order information (not your personal details).
Your Rights
- Access - request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Deletion - request account and data deletion
- Correction - update your saved information
- Notification opt-out - unsubscribe from push notifications at any time in your browser settings or through the app
- Data portability - request an export of your saved locations

Children's Privacy
Good To Drone is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
